“A Nod To Being Kind”

There’s a hunger out there. A yearning to do good, see good, and feel connected. It’s the reason why passersby of all kind stopped at my daughters’ and their friends’ lemonade stand last week, and offered a friendly smile and a 5 dollar bill, a quintuple of the asking price.

We all want the same thing. Stripped down, out of circumstance and program, we all want to feel… well…good: happy, heard, fulfilled, together, wanted, hopeful, supported. And, people are looking for the ways to it.

I think the old tried and true of performing small acts of kindness, is one way through. In a world bombarded with density, duality and challenge, simply being nice offers a breath of fresh air. The power is in the refocusing.

“People just want that human connection.” -Heather, President of @tcfhelps chatting with me after volunteering to do two hours of yard work for local senior citizens in need.

The acts do not have to be grandiose. Let the person go in front of you during traffic. Hold the door, give the compliment, add a few positive news channels to your feed. And especially, when life is giving you lemons, stop at the next kids lemonade stand and leave a big tip 😉
