Fire House

Holmes Pa., population 2,645 has a local fire station - ladder 43. All fighters are volunteers, there is one female. There are roughly 30 alarms per month, mostly for “rit rescue” - helping other fire fighters who are in distress. Some calls are for fires and some are for car accidents. There are 5 trucks at the Holmes station. A truck costs about $1m. The station is minimal but warm with no pun intended there. It has an old world feeling, like that of the 1950’s.
